LupUs Together Scholarship

Lupus Together stands as an organization that believes in equal opportunities for everyone to
go to college no matter what their background or struggles they are faced with

About the Scholarship

 We believe that all upcoming college students who are struggling with Lupus and other autoimmune diseases deserve this chance as well. Applying for the LupUs Together scholarship can provide this chance and demonstrate the cause that we understand the challenges and struggles face day to day. LupUs Together scholarship is awarded to one student every year. The recipient will receive an award of $500 that will be made payable to the educational institution in which the recipient is enrolled. Additional scholarships may be awarded throughout the academic year. Our winner will demonstrate exceptional academic merit and a drive to succeed while overcoming the struggles that come with lupus.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Deadline - April 20th, 2024

Eligibility
  1. Each applicant must be diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) and be willing to show proper

  2. documentation to verify the diagnosis.

  3. Must be a full-time senior in high school and going into freshman year of college in Fall 2024 (Attach a copy of your college acceptance letter)

  4. Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA (With PDF copy of high school transcript)

  5. Must be involved in their community (extracurricular activities, i.e. job, clubs, community service, athletics, etc.)

  6. Highly encouraged to receive a recommendation from a trusted adult (i.e. teacher, coach, employer, mentor, etc.) NO FAMILY MEMBERS

  7. Must be willing to share their story with others (Social Media, LupUs Together website, etc.)

Essay Requirements
  1. Essay Topic: "How Lupus has affected YOUR life"

  2. Minimum of 500 words

  3. MLA Format

If I am selected as a recipient of this scholarship, I permit the nonprofit to publicly announce my name and anything I submit. I understand that I will be identified as an upcoming college student with Lupus.
